Thursday, May 11, 2017 Laureate Lab Grand Hatching: Anthony, U.S. Poet Laureate Emeritus Juan Felipe Herrera and Graduate Fellow J.J. Hernandez opened the Laureate Lab Visual Words Studio at Fresno State. LaLab is a one of kind space exploring the intersections of poetry, visual art, sound, video, and community to push the boundaries of poetics and artform. Over 400 students, staff, faculty, and community members participated in the launch, which included creation stations staffed by LaLab, as well as a reading featuring Juan Felipe Herrera, Mayra Cano, Rebeca Flores, J.J. Saturday, May 6, 2017 Journal Re-launch Reading & Celebration of "Flies, Cockroaches, and Poets": The Chicanx Writers and Artists Association of Fresno State re-launched the journal founded by the late-poet Andrés Montoya, and writer Daniel Chacon. Saturday, April 23, 2016 LitHop 2016 - Anthony participated in the first ever LitHop of Fresno. Over 140+ writers will converge on Fresno's Tower District to share their work. HAWC hosted an offsite AWP reading honoring the work of the editorial board of HAWC, as well as celebrating the recent accomplishment of Mai Der Vang winning the 2016 Walt Whitman Poetry Prize. December 20, 2014 HAWC celebrated their ten-year anniversary with a free reading hosted by the Hmong Student Association of Fresno State University.
